Honoring a Legend: The Bandit Dream Giveaway Returns

One year ago, we were saddened to hear of the passing of Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds, star of the Smokey and the Bandit movies. Since 2015, we had worked closely with Mr. Reynolds to surprise two lucky winners with autographed Smokey and the Bandit Trans Ams.

In his life, Mr. Reynolds lived by the creed of generosity. He loved participating in the Bandit Dream Giveaway and expressed his wish for it to continue on in his honor. Earlier this year, Dream Giveaway Garage and Mr. Reynolds’ estate exacted a plan to honor Mr. Reynolds’ life, legacy and films, while at the same time, helping seven great charities.

Introducing the all-new Bandit Dream Giveaway, and your chance to bring home a very special 1979 Pontiac Trans Am Special Edition autographed by the Bandit himself.

When you enter today with a generous donation to help veterans and kids, you’ll be one step closer to bringing home the ultimate Smokey and the Bandit collectible — a 37,000-original-mile Bandit Trans Am restored to Dream Giveaway’s exacting standards and autographed by the immortal Burt Reynolds.

This documented 1979 Pontiac Trans Am has all the signature features that made Smokey and the Bandit a car-guy classic for all time – Pontiac’s black and gold Special Edition package, T-top roofs and a numbers-matching V-8 engine.

Head on over to Dreamgiveaway.com and get your entries today. If your lifelong dream is to own a Bandit Trans Am with Burt Reynolds’ autograph looking back at you every time you put the pedal to the metal, this is the only Bandit Trans Am on earth for you.

That’s why Dream Giveaway Garage partners with C10s in the Park being held this weekend, September 20-21, 2019.

If you’re within driving distance of Dallas, Texas, here’s your special invitation to see the grand-prize 1972 Cheyenne Super 10 that you can win in the C-10 Dream Giveaway. Stop by the Dream Giveaway Garage display and mention that read about 1972 C-10 in Shiftin’ Gears. We’ll give you a limited edition C-10 Dream Giveaway T-shirt just for stopping by.  C10s in the Park is an all-GM classic-truck (1947-1987 model years) event held at Getzendaner Park in historic Waxahachie, Texas. Waxahachie is located about 30 minutes south of Dallas. This event is held on the 3rd Saturday in September. Getzendaner is a beautiful park with huge trees, which provides plenty of shade.

What started out in 2015 with only 62 trucks has grown into a huge event. In 2016, the promoters announced that Brothers Trucks would be the primary sponsor. This year’s show sold out of show-field registrations in less than 12 hours. Wear your walking shoes as the event will feature 1,000 trucks and free spectator admission.
C10s in the Park is called the “Largest C10 Gathering the in South” when in fact it’s probably the largest in the world. People are coming from all around the country and Canada just to hang out, to look at GM classic trucks, and enjoy each other’s company. Ronnie Wetch with C10 Talk, says it the best, “The trucks are cool, but the people are cooler.”

Charity Spotlight: Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries

When you make a donation to win the ground-pounding cars of your dreams, your donation goes a long way to helping out Motor City’s less fortunate. This month, Shiftin’ Gears checks in with grant recipient Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries and discuss the topic of volunteerism.

Every year, over 13, 000 individuals volunteer their precious time and talent at various locations of Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries in five Michigan counties.

These individuals are drawn from compassionate families, businesses, government departments, churches, social-impact organizations and schools.

Their volunteer services range from painting, construction and landscaping to tutoring, bible study and preparing and serving meals to residents that include women, teens and children as well as veterans and senior citizens.

Those who have volunteered speak of the joy they get from “giving back” and helping to change lives in the area. And in a number of cases, they feel encouraged to also donate money and materials to further support the work of the 1909-founded human services organization. “We always welcome and appreciate volunteers. Without them, it would be more difficult to daily serve as many as 2,200 persons in need,” says President and CEO Dr. Chad Audi.

If you live in the metropolitan Detroit area and want to volunteer, please call (313) 993-4700, visit www.drmm.org/volunteer or inbox the Mission’s Facebook or Twitter pages for more information.

Visit www.dreamgiveaway.com today and make a donation to enter to win some amazing prize packages. When you do so, you’ll be helping Detroit Rescue Mission rehabilitate more lives and rebuild more Detroit neighborhoods. To learn more, go to www.drmm.org.
