Every month, Dream Giveaway Garage brings you a behind-the-scenes look at Dream Giveaway® grand-prizes, the charities that benefit from your donation, the companies that help us build the grand-prize cars, and the lucky winners!

  Ending Soon: GTO Dream Giveaway®

Giddy up, GTO. That’s what muscle car fans were saying back in 1965 when the GTO ignited the entire muscle-car era. Now it’s your turn to giddy up because the GTO Dream Giveaway is ending soon.

Thanks to our partner in this promotion, Ames Performance Engineering, you’ll bring home a fully restored, concours-certified 1965 GTO when you enter and win this giveaway. But that’s just the start of what makes this classic GTO so special.

Unlike most GTOs that were ordered by dealers or customers, the grand-prize GTO was ordered directly by Pontiac Motor Division for internal use at its Portland Zone office. It could have been a press car, a show car or a Pontiac management car.

No wonder this iconic GTO has all the right options that made the original muscle car era so memorable, like a Tri-Power 389ci engine, four-speed transmission, transistorized ignition, metallic brakes and much, much more.

Whether you drive or keep it as a trailer queen, this GTO is rip-roaring ready to help you re-live the excitement of 1965.

  Charity Spotlight: Bright Pink

When you enter a Dream Giveaway with your generous donation, a portion of the proceeds benefit Bright Pink—a national breast and ovarian health organization. This month in Shiftin’ Gears, we asked this worthy women’s-health organization to share the story of one of its full-time employees. Her name is Dr. Deborah Linder.

Dr. Deborah Lindner has served as Chief Medical Officer of Bright Pink for the past nine years. In this time, she developed the organization’s Women’s Health Provider Education Initiative, an education program that trains Obstetrician Gynecologists and primary-care practitioners to stratify and manage patients based on their breast and ovarian cancer risk. Over 18,000 health providers nationwide have completed this educational initiative. Dr. Lindner has also been instrumental in developing Bright Pink’s signature digital resources, AssessYourRisk.org and ExploreYourGenetics.org, through which women can identify their personal risk level for breast and ovarian cancer and learn more about genetic counseling and testing.

Dr. Lindner graduated from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. During her residency she did research in the National Ovarian Cancer Early Detection Program and her subsequent practice as a Clinical Instructor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University focused on management of high-risk women. Dr. Lindner’s personal experience as a previvor was the subject of the Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times article, “Cancer Free at 33, but Weighing a Mastectomy.” She has lectured nationwide on the topic of breast and ovarian cancer risk management and has been featured in numerous television and print media outlets.
