  Charity Spotlight: Victory Junction

Each and every time you donate to win any of our great grand-prize packages, a portion of your donation benefits the Victory Junction. We recently checked in with this incredible charity to learn more about its mission.

Nestled in the quiet rolling hills of central North Carolina, surrounded by tall pines and lush farmland, lies a wondrous place full of adventure, discovery, and acceptance. Passing through the doors of brightly colored buildings, the freedom of childhood and the magic of camp comes alive.

Victory Junction was the dream of Adam Petty, a fourth-generation race-car driver from the legendary Petty family. Adam’s passion for racing was equaled only by his compassion for others, especially children. Between races, he frequently visited pediatric hospitals. After his tragic death in 2000, Adam’s family and friends came together to build his dream of a camp to serve children with serious illnesses; a camp intentionally made accessible with adaptive equipment so that every child could play and experience the delight and joys of camp.  In June 2004, Adam’s legacy of love was realized when the first campers passed through the gates of Victory Junction.

Since then, at no cost to families, over 90,000 camp experiences have been shared with kids who have disabilities, serious illnesses or chronic medical conditions.  Victory Junction’s adaptive, intentional programming includes summer camp, family retreats, day programs, equine therapy, pediatric patient outreach, and partner programs. By removing all barriers, Victory Junction welcomes and invites children to experience camp fun, all in a medically safe and inclusive environment.  And, these experiences inspire confidence, foster self-esteem, and build perseverance for the children we serve.

Meet The Winner: Impala Dream Giveaway®

“I won a free car.”

Those are the words of Paul F., the lucky winner of the Impala Dream Giveaway. John is the winner of one of the best restored 427ci/425hp 1966 Chevrolet Impalas in the country.

Here’s what else we know about this fantastic winner. He is a tool and die maker by trade and he enjoys fishing in his spare time.

His advice to you? “You can’t win if you don’t play.”
